ConsultancyThe institute provides a range of consultancy. The director in particular is in much demand, providing consultancy advice and input to external activities. ResearchCurrently the Institute is coordinating a major five year research programme into national identity and constitutional change, The Nations and Regions Research Programme. The programme is funded by the Leverhulme Trust. The Institute is in a position to respond to tenders issued by the Scottish Parliament, the Scottish Executive and others and, more specifically, its directors are acting as advisors and consultants to parliamentary committees and enquiries. It is developing collaborative work with members of the British-Irish Consortium, namely, University College Dublin, the Queen's University Belfast, the London School of Economics and Cardiff University.
MSP databaseThe Institute maintains a database of MSP's interests, voting patterns etc. which is a valuable resource for a range of organisations. The database is used by external parties including companies, lobby groups, local councils etc for a fee.
