The interns of autumn 2001 met for a reunion in
Boston in November 2003. Meaghan Carey wrote this email to Paddy Bort
(24 November 2003):
Our weekend together was as much fun as you would expect of that particular
group of crazies. Elayna, Newell, and Colman, as the Bostonians, acted
as our hosts and did a wonderful job. Elayna got in touch with the American
distributors of Strongbow and got us some, so that we could drink Scotland
style. She and Colman also bought lots of British food products such
as Hobnobs. At the end of the weekend my stomach hurt from laughing so
hard.
We talked a lot about the internship and how much fun it was, but also
how much it shaped our current lives.
I gave everyone your regards and they send back a loud hello. (We also
gave you a ceremonial toast.) Colman wanted you to know that he went
bearded for a few months.
An agreement was reached that we all want to have a reunion in Edinburgh
in the next few years.
Have a wonderful holiday season (Our Thanksgiving is next week, so the
holiday season has begun for us),
Meaghan
