Nicola McEwen speaks to Norwegian research group about climate change policy in Scotland

Nicola McEwen, Senior Lecturer in Politics and Co-Director of the Institute of
Governance, today welcomed a group of academics from the Norwegian Institute
for Urban and Regional Research. The group are visiting the University of Edinburgh on a study trip to learn
about Scotland’s economic, social and political development. Nicola gave a
presentation entitled ‘Climate change policy in a multi-level arena: the case of
Scotland’, setting out the Scottish government’s climate change and renewable
energy agenda. She examined the opportunities for and constraints upon devolved
Scotland’s political autonomy and the intergovernmental dynamics underpinning
energy and climate change policy in Scotland.
