European Union progress towards sustainabiity in relation to water, food, manufactured goods and energy
Institute hosts meeting with European Environment Agency (EEA) Director, Prof Jacqueline McGlade.
Prof McGlade met members of the RSE Climate Change Committee, Prof David Sugden, Geoscience, and Prof Jan Webb, Social and Political Science, to discuss European Union progress towards sustainability in relation to water, food, manufactured goods and energy. Prof McGlade argued that we need a narrative for Scotland, connecting people, parliament and public and private sectors in a common project to create a better quality of life built around a proper valuation of Scotland's plentiful supply of renewable energy, land and water resources, and its potential contribution to resource efficiency gains in high-tech developments.
