The Institute has established itself as a major centre for research on nationalism, national identity and constitutional change. Beginning in the early 1990s, it has carried out both qualitative and quantitative research on national identity in particular, and is currently examining changing national identities in England and Scotland post-devolution. The MSc in Nationalism Studies benefits from this strong research link.
