The ECPR Standing Group on Federalism and Regionalism is the largest European scholarly network on the study of federalism and regionalism. It brings together about 400 scholars in the field of federalism, regionalism, devolution, multi-level governance or territorial politics from across Europe and beyond. The Standing Group organizes thematic workshops at regular ECPR conferences (joint sessions of workshops, general conference, post-graduate conference), co-sponsors workshops or conferences and organizes PhD Summer Schools in the field of federalism and regionalism. The Standing Group has a link with Federal and Regional Studies, the leading European specialist journal in the field. Since May 2007, the standing group has been convened by Wilfried Swenden and Eve Hepburn (both affiliated to the Institute of Governance), jointly with Klaus Detterbeck (University of Magdeburg).
